Posted by: lookskyward1  •  Forum: Technical assistance Pathfinder Wed Mar 25, 2015 12:42 am like any other forum on the internet survives by the grace and participation of its members. One of our basic functions is to help owners keep, maintain and improve their vehicles to the best of our ability without splashing out a lot of cash in the process. We do this for no reward but do ask you to do a few things for us.

Use the search function
The forum has been going since 2006 and during that time a wealth of information has been gathered, which is relatively easily accessed by using the search function (at the top of the page). Use the shortest key word(s) as possible to get the best results. Do not forget to browse the Technical libraries which store a lot of really top quality information.

Introduce yourself
If you are a new member before posting a question in the technical section it is really appreciated if you would visit the ‘Introduce yourself’ section to tell us about your Navara and yourself. This makes it easier for the rest of the membership to relate to you and will give us a baseline to give you the best information given your circumstances.

Formulate your query
If you cannot find the information you need using the search please spend some time formulating your query. We will need the following information for mechanical subjects;

Age, and mileage of your truck.
What service history has it, including when the last service was carried out.
What modifications the vehicle has.
Bear in mind that it is not easy to diagnose an issue remotely so the more information we have on the subject the better.

Keep the dialogue going
Once you start getting replies, please have the decency to reply. If you are asked questions please answer them to the best of your ability, please do not get upset, the more information we can gather the better chance we have of getting a correct diagnosis and point you in the right direction for a repair.

We will try to keep costs down for you, but occasionally you may be asked to replace a part to rule that out of the equation. (For example, the fuel filter is a common cause of engine related issues).

Tell us the results
Whether we do manage to help you with the problem or not, let us know what did solve the problem in the end. This will be invaluable for others in the future.
