Hi, I've read a couple of threads regarding which oil to use and neither of them really give a definitive answer and both threads were quite old now.
So which type of oil is best 5w30, 10w40? Etc my pops (old boy diesel fitter ) swears by mollyslip or other similar but is that still a good idea in a more modern engine ?
Could it even be a good idea to use a mix of the 2 giving both thinner and thicker oil together?
The Owners Manual seems to suggest anything from 5w30 to 10w40 CF grade. Yesterday at a local motor factor they looked up on the computer Nissan's current recomendation for an '04 D22 with the YD25 engine. It was stated as 5w30 fully synthetic C3 grade, so thats what I've bought.
Costco have fully synthetic 5/30 on offer at the moment £40-78 inc vat for 20lts, or semi synth 10/40 at £38-38.
I have been using the fully synth for years, really good oil.
