D22 towbar - how easy to fit at home?

Sorry if this is the wrong area but I am looking at getting a towbar fitted to tow an occasional trailer when collecting logs and the odd bit of furniture.

Having looked around I wondered if anyone knew how easy it was to fit a tow bar to a D22 (there is no rear bumper) and if it's easy where the best place to get a kit would be.

I can handle a drill and am comfortable with 12v electrics but all the sites I've seen that mention instructions say about drilling 13mm holes and without the kit in front of me I am not sure exactly where the holes would be (I don't have a ramp so would have to be working under the car on the ground if it makes any difference).

Thanks for any help.

Re: D22 towbar - how easy to fit at home?

Hi Siday, that's sods law, I moved from Peterborough to North Wales about 6 weeks ago (hence me buying the Navara).

Ahtyrrel, that sounds like a good idea - I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can source one locally (or at least get it here quickly)

Thanks both for your help

Re: D22 towbar - how easy to fit at home?

its 5 holes in each chassis member for the d22 2 have captive nuts and the other 3 need nuts, be careful of the bumper type towbars as most arent rated to tow more than a bag of coal on a rollerskate
if you dont get sorted before you visit friends over this way give me a shout fortyniner
