Nissan Navara Fuel Consumption

We have just purchased a Brand New 10 Reg Nissan Navara Tekna S/Nav Manual 2.5DCi.

Owned it for 3 weeks now and driving very carefully only recieving 27.2mpg ... My friend owns a Pathfinder in the same spec 56 reg and is getting averages of 32mpg NOT driving carefully - he has attached a new chip and magnets on the fuel lines.

Has anyone else got any ideas: fuel pre-heaters, chips, magnets on fuel lines etc that have had any experience or know of the best ones to use.

Any ideas or comments would be great !!

Cheers, Alex

Re: Nissan Navara Fuel Consumption

56 reg pathfinder is euro 3 and your is euro 4 emissions thats why!

my old 06 reg nav (euro 3) averaged at least 33mpg and my 08 (euro 4) averages 25mpg.

to make it run cleaner it uses more fuel!!!

also the 56 reg will have 174 bhp and yours will be 171bhp or even 169bhp

Unless you have the new facelifted navara with 190bhp then ignore what i said as they should be better on fuel.....so give it time and run it in...

Mines only done 500 miles but is def better than my last manual on fuel. I will check on next full tank but reckon im getting 475 maybe more to a tank wheres Id get 400-420 on my 09 euro 4. This ones an auto too!! Im averaging with normal driving round town anything from 27.4 to 30mpg and on a 70ish mpg run around lowish 30's

Waiting on my V6 Nissan Navara Outlaw...
