Fusebox tap

Hi guys,
does anybody have an opinion on these fuse taps?

http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=351975384165&category=174023&pm=1&ds=0&t=1487586473528

Are they safe? Do they run and protect efficiently both circuits (the existing one and the new one) when installed?
Also, is the fuse box always live even with ignition off?

I wanted to install a new power outlet to feed a dashcam from the glovebox fuse box and maybe a USB power point (straight USB, not cigarette light socket).

Thank you.

They are fine for low current stuff like dash cams.

Also, 12V to USB modules are very handy. I have 3 tucked away on my 5th wheel so I can charge Phones, Kindles, Tablets etc., without using a mains socket up and having an untidy power pack.

Plenty of choice, here is one example:

I've got one fitted exactly as you've said. Behind the glove box to run USB power for my phone. I will use one for a dashcam too when I get round to ordering one.

If you use the circuit for the existing 12v aux socket, it is only live with the ignition.

Thank you for your input guys.
I will check the diagrams to find out which one is the aux socket in the morning.

I was considering something like this:

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/361134026629?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&_mwBanner=1

and I don't want it to stay live when the ignition is off as sometimes I don't use the nav for 2 or 3 weeks (I am not good with electrical stuff but it has a led plus I don't know whether the component that converts 12v to 5v draws constantly power).

I was also thinking of replacing one (or both) of the existing cigarette lighter socket with the USB socket I liked above because none of my plugs stay in or make good contact. I am talking about the two sockets by the right knee, anyone has the same problem? I stopped using them altogether for this reason, it can't be only me...
