SERVICE LIGHT RESET

Does anybody have any info on how to reset the service 'spanner' that flashes when your D40 is over due it's service? I've serviced mine myself with genuine Nissan parts which cost less than 140 but the service spanner flashes everytime I start the engine and the miles say -100 (and counting). My local dealer wanted 500 for the 36K service!

Re: SERVICE LIGHT RESET

try this:-
Turn on the key, while distance to next service amount & spanner symbol are displayed (in the 1st few seconds) depress the button until the numerals start to blink then release. Now with each press of the button the amount starts to increase until it reaches the end & starts back at 1000k's

cheers

Re: SERVICE LIGHT RESET

As I said it worked fine for me. It automatically went to 18000 miles without trying to alter it. All I wanted was to stop the spanner flashing and not have minus miles to the next service.I wouldn't take much notice as the milage counts down at a different rate depending on your driving style. Town driving mine counts down quicker than motorway driving. Best servicing yearly or 12k anyway as 18k is far to long for even the best oil.
