Something missing from brakes?!

Hi chaps, please forgive my level of knowledge on these vehicles, I've only owned it about 8 weeks.
Anyway, upon giving it my D40 a clean earlier I noticed a metal lug sticking out, looks snapped, or something is missing?

Please see attached picture.

Fixed the link.

It is the spring clip that stops the pads rattling. Not fitted correctly, needs a bit of fiddling..

It looks like the clip on the back of the pad has fallen off.

No not really mate all that clip does is to stop the pads from rattling when your not using the brakes.

I've checked the passenger side, and it looks like they've been fitted incorrectly! The pins are both on the top, if that makes sense. God knows how, unless they've fitted the offside to the near side etc

Looks like you right. I would buy a new set and fit them properly.
