Re: Electric Fan Conversion

Are you sure you're fitting a big enough relay Steve? Sounds like the contacts are welding, often caused by either a large inrush current or a relay with too smaller contact rating.

Have you checked to prove theres no voltage to the coil and that its not the thermostat playing up?

Re: Electric Fan Conversion

Hi Rich, no it's the relays, and they were supplied with the fan, i have been told that two more Navs and a Pathy have suffered the same?
I might try a bigger relay, but lost a bit of confidence in it now.

Now apart from the relay issue i have been happy with the fan, and gained a little mpg, however as i tow a fifth wheel trailer when on holiday, i need it to be reliable, and it seems the relays aren't.

Has anybody else suffered the relay issue, i thought it might be because of the relay being mounted close to the rad, that the heat might be the problem, but the instructions say to fit it there.

I am fitting an ATF cooler soon, so i may well have to go back to the viscous as well, i wouldn't be too concerned but, i can't have the worry of the Kenlowe not working when towing, especially if i go to France or Spain.

Anyway, i thought i'd mention it as a kind of updated review.

Shame but i think the Kenlowe might have to go
try here all you need and much better quality cheaper too
