70 to 90 k is always a bad time what ever make.
The reason there are so many faults is because there are so many around but I would admit Nissan have gone down hill from the good old days and there service is poor it's a fact or life this happens to all good manufacturers when they get complacent then sales drop and they then try harder to win sales back
Hyundia cars and Kia are very good at the mo vw will in the not too distant after there troubles if they suffer a bit more. Merc are slipping and so on
Only my opinion so no law suits please but I feel it's true.

Ford were pants back in 08 or should I say mine was.
Toyota seem constant but have struggled lately a bit ( inside info)
You can tell when cars are shared between manufactures. It's usualy to save very expencive r and d or to fill a hole where legislation has beaten them Ie they can't get an engine design to meet new regs so buy from some one else until they can.
I've reaunalt supplying Nissan merc using np 300 along with reanault. My qasqui is a reanault engine and kajar in disguise and many more.

Rant over

Agreed, but the unique point with the D40 is that it was a good 4 years ahead of the competition. If you, like me, were shopping for a pickup in 06 nothing else came close in terms of power, handling, ride and interior.

Not just comparing with other pickups, the Range Rover 3 litre diesel produced the same power with much worse mpg and slower 0-60 too.

Likewise, comparing with normal cars, the Navara specs made the (more expensive) Mondeo look pretty pathetic.

Long and short of this ramble is that the D40 was cutting edge at its release and well priced.

Cutting edge technology and keen pricing means things go wrong. If you want reliable buy old tech.
