******* kids

So theres a craze going round east leeds of kids/teenagers puting little stones in your tire valve caps to let the air out
Anyway i thought i was ok since i park in a drive...
Well this morning i got up and ive got 4 flat tires.
****** off is an understatment as i was running late already
So i go get my 12v compressor from the shed plug it in and connect to the first tire
15 minutes later i check the pressure and see its still at zero
Arrrgh theres a air leak in the compressor!
So i throw it on the back seat and phone a taxi to go the 18miles to work #small fortune
So my question is whilst im at work would rac (i am a member) go to my house and blow the tires up? or am i gonna have to buy a new compressor on my way home?

If you have the Home start (or equivalent), yes. Still worth picking up a compressor.

Had a spate of nicking valve caps a few years ago. I put some of those caps that get locked on with an Allen key. Of course they seized up so they all had to be dremelled off!

Gavin, report it to the Police. It's vandalism the more reports they get about it the more likely they'll do something to stop it.

These wee compressors will struggle to fill the tyres on the Navara from flat. It will overheat and die on the first wheel. It will be worth calling the RAC, to see if they'll fix it for you.... this is why you pay for your cover.

Call rac to help you out. Thene get yourself a real compressor and get rid of that 12V toy you call a compressor. 😉 that way next time you're equipped to do it yourself and to give those kids the middle finger. Haha. ..

Landmannnn i was just looking at the locking caps on ebay but after your post i dont think i'll bother

Lookskyward the police are well aware of the problem but realistically theres not a lot they can do

Get one of those branded 12v air compressors like ARB, TMAX, V-AIR.The ones that get power directly from battery and not the outlets.I got the TMAX for 150 and can blow up a 31x10,5 tyre from 0-2,2bar in under 4 mins.It gets useful for offroading also

0.1g of copper grease is cheap, and the caps won't seize. No need to make them too tight though.

Mind you, feral children are sometimes cunning enough to find something else to destroy. Hopefully not on your truck

The plural of anecdotes is not data. Anecdotes however, are better than hearsay.... And keep your NOx and particulate emissions LOW - it's better than killing your kids.... Only meant for those that mod in a way that adds to pollution!
