Unhappy What do you hate about you navara ? Damn Tourette's inducing machine

Oh my gosh! What a beeping mother of a machine it gives me Tourette's every time I ...........

What do you hate about your navara and what model is it....., ?

My hatred is for the positioning of the oil filter on my diesel D40.......
It might just be me but I am too fat to get under it and when I do I can't bend my wrist in the wrong direction I don't a universal joint halfway up my area and I am to big to go in from the top and if I wasn't I am not tall enough.....
The confounded machine nearly kills me every time I change the oil and filter. I have to remoVe the engine cover and the fuel filter get my steps and trolley Jack to lift up the car and then after swearing and grunting for 3 hours it's done but at what cost ........ I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it.......
The confounded machine it should take 15 mins but all afternoon grrrrrrrr.

I know if I had a garage and a ramp it would be only 15 mins but again today 3 hours.... And a scratched and cut hand
......

But I still love my tuck honest......

I know why the stealers charge so much only joking I am starting to love the truck again..

I nearly have all the niggles sorted so far all that's left is replace rear speakers and re lube the climate control plate. Oh and try to get the mirror adjuster and headlamp adjuster night lights working.

What do you hate about yours. :surpr ise:

I don't realy hate it but it is a pain especially when I am not drinking for a couple of months.
I love my truck but I could be a bit easier. It teases you by looking ok. To get too but it's just always out of reach or you just can't get on to it.

Happy new year.

It's a necessary evil for me to have a truck for a while. D40 V6 with 20k miles and one warranty claim so far. It seems robust in all things related to legal requirements but oddly fragile in other areas, basically, poor design and build quality. That's my issue with truck, I suppose. There are ways to engineer the necessary complexity of modern vehicles without making them fragile and pared to the bone on cost, and making everything so hard to get to fix - it takes more time and costs a bit more...

I don't expect other trucks to be much better, irrespective of brand, and in its day, the V6 was arguably the best of the crop. My local dealer has been OK for service and repairs, but that wasn't really testing them when things go horribly wrong, which I suspect is a matter of time. I'd never go near a Nissan if and when I go back to using cars...

Not having an ounce of metal on, near or in the front bumper near the numberplate to fix a light bar to! Looked at it 5 times, pondered over countless cups of coffee and bar still in the garage and truck still 'blind'!

NP300 Cayman Blue Tenka manual Euro 5. Nissan truck top, just some extra lights but WITH NNNet STICKERS front and back 👊 Loving it.
Suit in a Ute but wannabe weekend warrior in the Shires!

That oil filter is obviously put there to discriminate against us short rotund men. We should raise a private prosecution against Nissan for discrimination causing personal injury.

The oil and filter is recomended to be changed 500miles after any major heart operation. Just to be safe to ensure there is no swarf from new parts bedding in or bits of rubber gasket goo that may have fallen in during the operation.
It's just a precaution and I am old and still in old school mechanics mode. I can't believe that oil and filters can last 20,000 miles plus any way.
It was a bit of a waste as I changed the oil at 68 k and I had the chain done at 70 of and now it's had it done again. It's going to be the cleanest flushed through engine in the world especially as the egr is blanked as well.

I won't be doing it again for a year I can tell you but I have piece of mind and that was the whole point of having the chain done. I can now hoon around in complete bliss without a care in the world knowing that the engine isn't going to disintegrate at any moment.
That reminds me I must stop drifting the old girl and reduce the tyre pressures a tad as I am only getting about 29.5 to the gallon now even with the remap and hard pipe buts that just because I am enjoying the ( in the voice of clarkson ) POWER I tell you the old girl doesn't half hitch up her petticoat nowadays yee haa
