TD27 Hard to start after not waiting for glow plugs

I was in hurry and tried to turnover my TD27 diesel and didnt wait for glowplugs
It now really labors when i try to start it, but before would start with no dramas at all.

Can this do any damage?
I am hoping it is a battery issue or something, read somewhere that this can put extra load on the battery.

Can someone help me sort the fact from the fiction?

Until now has been a dream just change the oil and filters regularly and it just keeps going.

Re: TD27 Hard to start after not waiting for glow plugs

Don't think it's caused any damage but brought to light a weakness it having an 'easy life' useing the glow on every start hot or cold.
First point would be a 'drop test' for the battery under load and then a current 'draw' test on the starter motor.
Any good mechanic/auto electrician could test this for you.
Berfore you take it for a test I'd remove, clean and refit ALL the engine earthing cables to make sure this wasn't the fault as it's common to any electrical faults on these trucks over time.

Re: TD27 Hard to start after not waiting for glow plugs

Before I start my truck or my citron relay van I allways wait for the glow plug light to go off before starting even in the summer
So am I doing the right thing

Spot on Woz
Starter motor, starting without waiting for glow plugs just brought the weakness to light.
Cheers
