Exclamation Please read current rules

Please read. Some important guidelines regarding posting on this site

New members

New members are required to make their first two posts in the 'Introduce yourself' section. This is an opportunity for you to tell us a bit about your truck and yourself (what model you have and what you use it for). It helps us to relate to you and is our opportunity to welcome you to the fold. If you walked into a pub, you would introduce yourself before talking to a stranger, forums share a lot in common with a pub. Please do this before writing any technical question which should be in the appropriate section.

Enter your location your profile

Please ensure you advise where you are in the world! We are not looking for a postcode, a county or region would acceptable. For our non UK members your country is acceptable bearing in mind there are some variations in Navara/Pathfinder specifications between markets.

‘Netiquette’ is the internet term for good on-line manners, which are the same on the internet as they are in person. Please be polite and considerate of others and do not be wooed into a feeling of invulnerability the internet can provide. Respect the opinions of others that may differ from your own, this is the key to successful interaction on Nissan

Discussions can often result in disagreements. Rebuttals to another person's opinions or beliefs should always be made in a rational, logical and mature manner, whether they are made publicly or privately. "Flaming," or insulting another forum subscriber, is never appropriate. Nissan exists to help find, collate and share information. It is a platform for like-minded individuals to get to know other users. Making forum members uncomfortable interferes with the purposes of the forum.

Internet security

Please be careful sharing personal information openly on the forum, telephone numbers and email addresses can lead to unwanted spam/nuisance calls. If you post a picture of your truck/vehicle(s) be wary of displaying your registration numbers as well as this can lead to criminal cloning of vehicles. Crime and traffic offences are easier for a criminal to commit when they have registration details for a specific vehicle.

Private Mail Should Dictate Private Responses

If someone on a discussion forum has sent a private message to you (i.e., not posted in the forum) and you have lost that person's address but want to respond, do not post private messages to the forum. Post a message to the forum only requesting that the person contact you again, without giving the details of any off-forum messages.

Foul Language

An automatic swear filter works on the forum, it will not be appreciated if efforts are made to avoid the filter by the use of mixed letters or symbols. Members should refrain from abusive or derogatory language that might be considered offensive. This also applies to the usage of inappropriate or offensive avatars or signatures, or pictures either presented within posts or via a link to another source or site.

The English language, text language and abbreviations

We are a UK based forum and we converse in English. We like clear communications and ask members to refrain from using text language (M8, thx, ppl etc.) If it is worth writing please spend the time to write your message clearly and to the best of your abilities. We are not looking for the ‘Queens English’ and understand that English may not be your first language. Please make an effort. Your post today may be part of a ‘how to’ or ‘sticky’ the future.

Unsolicited Advertising and Chain Letters

Most of these are contrary to appropriate use policies governing the use of the poster's Internet access provider. Not only that, they are annoying and (in the case of chain letters) often illegal. Please note that Nissan does not distribute the email addresses of forum subscribers, and any unsolicited advertising and chain letters that appear on the forum should be reported to a moderator.

Only forum sponsors are allowed to advertise on the forum. Businesses wishing to advertise their goods and services are required to see the advice of the forum moderation team prior to posting.

Double or multiple posts

If you do not get a reply to your first post, do not repeat the post with a new thread(s).

The ‘Marketplace’

This is the only area that members can trade with each other. The use of this area is a privilege and not a right. New members are not given access until they have over five valid posts. Please don't just expect to make five posts and go on a selling spree, if we think this rule is being abused we will act accordingly, so please be sensible.

Trading out-with this area will not be tolerated. The sale and wanted/swaps section have their own rules published there; please bear these rules in mind when using this area.

Further to this we do not want any 'what's it worth' threads, in any section these can be seen as an offer to sell and can be a source of friction and conflict on the board.
