Hi,

Just joined the forum. What i've read of others posts is great!

Anyway, we've just got a v cheap 02 plate D22 with a severe knock. Not being afraid of repairing engines etc. we decided that it was probably about to chuck the bottom end, but as it was still running is repairable.

Anyway, we've got all the bolts out of the sump, and its free at the front, but we can't shift it at the back (bell housing) end for love nor money! Are we missing a hidden bolt, or is the liquid gasket goo that nissan use THAT good?

Any help would be apprechiated. BTW - we've got the smaller part of the sump off and found what looks like part of a con rod - can't believe she was still running!!!!!! :!:

There are 2x M6 bolts at the rear of the sump inside the bellhousing - hence the gearbox needs sliding away from the engine about 1/2", so that you can get a 1/4" drive socket and extension inbetween and remove the bolts.

Good luck
