55w headlights
Black Darkness Nature Green Light

100w full beam
Black Sky Darkness Road Atmospheric phenomenon

Full beam and light bar
Sky Night Snow Road Winter

I think the light bar is angled down slightly so the spot part hits the ground too soon, ill adjust it when i get time, but still the pics speak volumes

What can I say. I like to be seen lol. I'm designing a new bracket for the top. Mine is very temporary but it uses the existing mounting holes for the roof bars. The new design will also use this but we sturdier and also mount the light further forward and also lower. I belive there are brackets on eBay that do this but they only fit 42" bars. Where as mine will be able to do upto 52"

@Craighew I've removed your recent thread regarding lightbars, as there are already plenty of threads on the subject available. If you do a quick search for "lightbar" in the Exterior Mods section, you will find plenty of advice/options. This was the first thread that came up when I searched, and it seems like a good place to start. :thumbleft:

We always recommend searching existing threads before starting a new one, just to avoid duplication of a topic.

Ok so i ordered it and it arrived and it look a good bit of kit however i failed to take into account the roofbars when i measured
Schoolboy mistake i know but that what you get when trying to measure somthing at 10pm i the rain
In short its about 4 cm too deep to fit in front of the roof bars and about10 cm too big to fit between them! So its going back on ebay and im back to plan A :cry:cry:cry

It looks fine until you read "adhesive tape instalation"
Not sure I'd want to sellotape it to the top of my truck...!>:)

I think the design would reduce the wind noise quite a bit compared with spots placed on the roof bars where the wind howls underneath them.

Yea that did concern me a little but its 3m tape which is quite good. but if it starts to loose hold id grab some sticaflex or similar! Im not too keen on the idea of drilling it down cos the nav roof has enough problems without sticking more holes in it

I put my light bar in the grill opening above the number plate as the roof mounted stuff really howls at speed...

I totally get that you get a better light pattern from up there though and it’s the best place in that respect. Definitely use that stickflex black stuff...it is absolutely brilliant. I put a rear spoiler on my transit with it as drilling is such a bad idea on the roof. It never came off and I really did test it!
Do not rely on 3m alone.... they will part company with the car usually at the height of summer from previous experience!

Ditto!
fitted my lightbar in the same place, and it has been good as gold.
with regards to the 3M tape, we use this in work for mounting displays and key pads in vehicle - and as mentioned, in summer they get warm and come away (and not gradually either) more so, to get the full effect, the surface you are sticking to has to be prepped to the cleanest possible degree, and to achieve this on the roof of the truck isn't going to be easy.

Sickaflex is the best stuff out there, but if you are in a bind, i can also recommend Tiger seal (they sell this in halfords) i used this to seal my arches on the starlet and they arent going anywhere (the neighbor hit one with his car a while back and they didn't budge)

Yea im hoping to a certain degree its made quite cheaply so its able to bend to match the profile of the navs roof.
Ive ordered one now anyway so give us a few weeks and ill let you know about noise lol
Im going to temporarily use the 3m tape supplyed so if it is too noisy its not a huge mess to get it back off. Once im happy with it ill bond it down permanent with the stickaflex

seeing as we are all at it, i thought id give ya a flash of the lightbar.
cheapo from Ebay! has 2x floods on either side and it works a treat. been on for a few months now and gets plenty of use when im driving to and from the workshop, which is in the middle of no where.
never had any issues, its been wet and muddy and still works.

didnt come with a loom or any of that jazz, you get what you pay for. i fitted via a relay.

One thing that i did notice when measuring it is ill need to drill it to let the arial through! Im hoping it doesnt interfere with the radio too

Hi, been watching this thread, I too am thinking about a light bar, on top of the roll bar behind the cab.
However just wondered on thoughts on how it will work and project light from back there, want to light up what’s in front of the truck not the stars...

As you can see from photo will I need to lift it a bit for the best position

Advice greatly appreciated [emoji106]
