Ranger gone and back to Navara but what one

hi. had 3 x Navara D40's now.

1st one 2006 adventure sold to friend as pestered me so much
2nd one 2005 outlaw chassis rusted
3rd 2011 Tekna sold to by a ranger

3.2 wildtrak ranger with big arches and wheels looked the part but hated every second of it so only lasted 6 weeks.

So looking to go back to a D40. is the V6 worth the bit extra?? I want an auto this time for sure. any pros and cons??

Thanks lee

Yep.
Seriously torquey (550Nm). Massively better, smother and more modern engine & gearbox both from a luxury car not from say, a delivery van, but yet similar real-world fuel economy. All the best toys included too. Anecdotally more reliable.

Don't drive a Navara V6 unless you seriously consider buying one.

Compared to the 2.5, the engine is so much torquier, the brakes work properly and it rides speed bumps without all that crashing.

On the downside, they tend to have high mileage and can be pricier.

thanks for the feedback. I like the D40's so seem logical to get the v6 if I can after 3 x 2.5. don't mind higher mileage as its only for DIY stuff to and from work and daughters horse trailer etc. local is key to me as travelled half way across the country for the ranger and was ****

I don't know what you can find in Norfolk, but these guys in North Wales usually have very clean low-mileage trucks, including V6's as they are a favourite for folk who tow. They are costly though, as they usually have the full 5th wheel conversion done plus sprayed bed liners and armadillo covers. Might be overkill as you don't need all that! But the chassis bolsters are awesome

Don't forget to check they have a dealer's letter covering the chassis repainting!
Best of luck, should you go for it!
