LED Light bar wiring, main beam and independent help?

I wired my 2 x light bars to work from the supplied switch when the ignition is on.
I've now decided that I would also like them to come on when the main beam is flashed as well as on a switch.
I've bought a 3 position switch to do this, but I'm having brain freeze trying to figure out the wiring.

This is the harness I have:
Not sure what the white wire is?
Goes from the switch to the relay.

And the switch:

I know the + feed from the main beam on the back of the H4 connector is the blue wire.

So how do I get this to work?
I'm presuming that I don't need the supplied harness switch for this set up to work, just the 3 position switch?

Any help greatly appreciated.

ignition + to outer pin (I) on 3pos switch.

Blue from main beam (I trust you know this, as I don't have a d40 to play with) to outer pin (II) in 3 pos switch.

Centre pin from 3 pos switch to + on relay to actuate it.

Other relay pins wire as is.

When 3 pos switch is in pos (I), lights will be on, from ignition.
When 3 pos switch is in pos(II) lights will come on with main beam.
when 3 pos switch is in "middle" pos, no lights from either side.

Hopefully that sorts you out

The white wire is the relays trigger wire. To connect to a 2 output switch you remove the existing push switch and its wires keeping only the white wire.
Then the white wire goes to the middle pin of the new switch.
Route a ignition live to one of the outer pins and a full beam live to the other pin.
This way if you have the switch in position 1 the light bar will be on with the ignition and if you have it in position 2 it will come on with full beams!
Position 0 is off completely all the time

Excellent guys, thanks.

I'll give this a go today as I've got the rear bar to wire up today and a couple of LED spots to wire in also

It had me baffled for a short while, as I wired them up as you said, and it still wouldn't work, turns out I'd broken one of the wire ends when crimping on the conector.
Anyway all sorted now, worked a treat bud, thanks again
