Re: D40 Navara alarm

THe alarm is a basic one on the nav,the so theres no motion sensors (unless upgraded) so i would think the only things to set the alarm off would be a faulty alarm module, dodgy door switches (the switches that make the interior lights come on) dodgy bonnet switch (can be found on the right hand side of the front slam panel under the bonnet) or theirs a power drain and alarm is sensing this....

Re: D40 Navara alarm

Thanks for that, I have disconnected all four door switch's with no joy [ still goes off ] there is'nt a bonnet switch on this one for some reason. Any idea where and how you find and test the alarm module, is just a pull out and plug in issue with it [ no coding etc ] cheers daveg

Re: D40 Navara alarm

This is the bonnet switch, i would have though it should have one, even my old 2006 outlaw had one, they are very easy to snapp off, as i did snapp it on my old nav and had to cable tie it back in place . if your saying there isnt one, is there a plug dangling about in that area that should connect to the switch....

Re: D40 Navara alarm

Do you have extra devices: such as alarms in load area etc like mine?
They are prone to cause problems if not fitted correctly (which alarm sounds: interior siren or horn?)

Re: D40 Navara alarm

There is a switch in the load area which I think only operates the interior light of the carryboy top. The alarm that sounds is the horn not a siren, it does'nt go off staright after arming and there is no set time for it to go off [ other than about 4 am for some reason, and the neighbours love me ] anyideasabout the alarm module itself cheers

Re: D40 Navara alarm

After half an hour search, found the bonnet catch still attached to the wires and tucked for some reason under the air filter out of the way. I have tested it and see no reason for it to have been unbolted, put it back in place and fingers crossed its been armed for one hour now and not gone off, thanks all for your much appreciated help, if it goes off again [in the imortal words of 'ARNIE' ] I'll be back. daveg
