[SOLVED] edit for question threads...

This has probably been mentioned before, but I don't see it?

Very often users on any technical forum will have made their account due their experience of a particular fault, issue, or another query. Sometimes, they disappear after the issue is resolved. Which is fine, they got their issue sorted, that's good.

When a user stays, and continues to use the site, why are they not encouraged to edit the thread title to include something like [SOLVED]?

If there is evidence of success with any problem, whether the user is here or not, Mods or Admin could edit it.

Just an idea, which could help more people, maybe?

Na, don't do that yourself, best take it to the garage.

We did do that for a while. The only challenge is that often it isn't clear exactly when solved has happened!

If the user themselves did it, it would be great. Would be so helpful for others.

Maybe a bit of a mission for staff to take on, along with everything else.

Slight issue with that is that the current forum settings only allow the user to edit their posts for 15 minutes after posting. I will check the settings.

Ah, ok.

It would be a good change to allow edits longer to allow this maybe.

15 minutes is tight, often you post, go read something else, come back to your last post and it reads like a 9 year old has hijacked your keyboard and there is no edit function

Hello there,

The editing time limit is set at 10 at the moment.
If it passes 10 minutes, you will need to contact a mod or admin to get the thread edited.
This is to prevent loopholes within the forum.
