Hi All,

I have an intermittent problem. I go to turn on the ignition and the SatNav screen, Radio, and Aircon controls are all dead. No power. I have checked all the fuses in all four fuse boxes and nothing is blown. The heated seat controls, hazard lights, door locker switch (Below the affected area) all work perfectly fine regardless. Every now and then when I turn the ignition on, everything comes back as if nothing is wrong. The aircon always operates at the setting it was last set when I could access the controls.

Any ideas? I'd like to get it sorted before winter, I'm currently on full fan at 16 degrees!

Follow up for people who may need info on this fault in the future.

I took it to Nissan yesterday. They faffed about with it for hours before saying that "The controller was broken". No details on what controller. They quoted £1100 for a replacement part. I am sitting on it for the moment.

I’ve had the same problem with 2015 techna. Remove the panel to the right of the accelerator, there’s two large electrical joints there . One of mine was corroded. Discovered this after Nissan changed the the main unit , scratched my dashboard doing it . This was in February Nissan have done nothing since , I phone customer services every week. Eventually I cut the loom myself and bypassed the corrosion. Have radio and sat nav now, although the unit they put in tells me I’m driving an Infinity !! Still now fan , heating or aircon.

That's brilliant thanks. I rushed out this morning to take off the plastic cover. How do you get that wiring loom apart? the ones with the grey arm over the connector?

They have leavers that go over then to lock them down, just pull it over and pull it apart. It was the top one that was the culprit

I have exactly the same signs of corrosion in that area, although not that far gone yet. I cleaned up the pins and tried again, but no joy. I think you are spot on though, I just need to get the base section out and look at that more closely. From the oxidation and green colour, you can tell it is water damage. Windscreen my foot though!

Interesting, I cut the bottom 7 or 8 wires and put them in a separate block, solved half the problem

Nissan blamed a leaking windscreen!!!
Was there any signs of water ingress
Might be easier to bypass the. Connection and plug each wire seperate to the other side of the plug as long as the wire match up.
Good luck as least you found the problem.

Hi there. So I've been on a bit of a journey with this one. No. in short. No progress.

I took it to another electrical specialist who had it for nearly a week. They were in long talks with Nissan about it and it seems that the climate control module acts as the brain for the entire console. The garage had no faith that they could match a second-hand part and Nissan would only sell them it for £650 (On four week backorder) on a sale, no return basis. In the end, they decided that they wouldn't commit to this.

Unfortunately in the process of stripping the dash I now have scratches all over, cut wires to the USB module, a broken compartment flap and missing the rubber insert.

I have phoned Nissan again to try and get ANYONE to fix this, but despite leaving a couple of messages, have heard nothing back.

I feel your pain. Nissan attempted to fix mine in February, messed it up , now I can’t get anywhere with them. Nissan GB have closed my case and said it’s the dealers problem. I’ve bought another run around as I’m fed up with steamed up windows and no heating. It would appear I spent £25k on a pile of **** ....
