I experienced a breakdown with my 2006 D40 Navara having blown its cylinderhead gasket. My mechanic friend replaced the blown head gasket and attempted to start the motor and after a couple of swings we managed to start it only to idle for 20 minutes an then died on us. It refuses to start. The Nav broke down some 400 kilometers from the city where it can be fixed properly by a fully accredited dealer. I decided to tow the vehicle all the way to the city. I NOW NEED YOUR ADVICE ON HOW TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE CITY.
The various options available to me are;
1. Profesional Recovery Service - too costly for me!
2. Using a flatbed trailer from a friend towing it with my own Nissan Hardbody 4x4 V6 - distance too long and risk high!
3. Using a A-Frame flat towbar made by a local welder.
The least costly option is no.3 - using a flat towbar but I lack previous experience and do not know the risks involved as the first 100 km are gravel road. I also do not know what damage I can expect to the towed vehicle (paintwork,lights, grille, windscreen etc)
PLEASE ADVICE

You don't need any experience to tow with a A frame. Just hook it up and drive.
Very steady on the gravel roads though.
