Hi folks,
I'm new to your site and find heaps of truthful info from quite a few diligent members.
We have just purchased a 2012 D40 Navara and what a great little ute.
It does blow black smoke though on loaded acceleration.
First, I removed a blanking plate and replaced the EGR with a new unit. - Still black exhaust.
Next, I checked the intake pipe - OK - not expanding at all.
Before I remove the injectors for testing, is there any test for the Suction Control Valve apart from engine stalling (ours does not stall).
Also, can anyone supply us with the electronic calibrations for the existing MAF (we have cleaned it but still black exhaust)

Welcome to the forum.

It's unlikely to be the SCV, cleaning the MAF was the right thing to do. There isn't any calibration you can do.

Are there any fault codes?

It would be worth running some injector cleaner through the tank before testing the injectors.
