Is there any advise on how to blank off the v9x egr?
is a ECU remap necessary to stop the engine light coming on?
and is it fine to just put a blanking plate at the intake/throttle side or is it necessary to put a plate on the exhaust side?

I got mine from Nissan. £9 I think, you could make one but time is never on my side so ordered one, payed for it an they posted it to me. Took a whole 10 mins to do lol.

What’s wrong with using exhaust paste on both sides of the plate?

Hi Rich,

I don't know what the advantage is.
I have removed my EGR and blocked it because it was broken and a new/second hand one is quite expensive.
I don't notice any difference in impact.
I didn't use exhaust paste, but made my own gasket.
Gasket paper can be bought in any good auto shop and is inexpensive and very effective.
I hope this answer is sufficient.

The exhaust gas recirculation adds exhaust to the fresh intake.
Positive - it reduces NOx which is a harmful emission
Negative - it soots up the intake, and has a very small impact on fuel economy.
