Just went to Nissan for my 4th service and second major.

I'm sure last time I had a major it was around the £300 mark. Today they want £410. Essentially all they seem to do is replace oil and filter, brake fluid and pollen bits. Transmission fluid isn't changed as far as I'm aware.

What's the deal with the warranty if I go to an independent?! £410 seems mental money. I paid that for a specialist in depth job on my Toyota Supra!

Your warranty won't be affected if you use a proper garage, so you don't have to go to Nissan.

You might be able to get the servicing cost down by haggling...

I recently had my second service (first Major), cost was £401.64
As well as the usual air and oil filters there's an item on the invoice named "STRAINER ASSY-F" for £89.20
I guess it's this, seems a little expensive for a consumable part

They also quoted me about £600 for replacing front discs and pads, which I declined! Bought Brembo discs and pads from Euro Car Parts for £120 and will fit myself.
