FYI Guys

Ordered a High level brake/load area light assembly from a dealer in the States as is fitted to the US Frontier.

Obtained part numbers from one of our US Frontier colleagues on the Club frontier site. Hopfully it will fit?

see: http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/show ... php?t=5355

I have finally received a Frontier high level break and load area lights from a very helpful guy from the Frontier forum however, it looks like I may have wasted my hard earned dollars! It will fit the D40 fine but I will have to take a chain saw to the top rear of the cab and cut out a shaped area about 30cm x 5cm.

As my Aventurer is only 2 weeks old I'm not keen on attempting this at the moment. I guess my warranty will be a bit suspect if I start chopping bits out of the truck as well!

I have thought about boxing it in but the contours of the unit are so designed that it's shaped to fit the cab so the box will have to be shaped in a similar manner! I believe there will be a more suitable aftermarket brake light system available that will do the job just as well. The light itself is about 40cm long so it’s quite wide and to my surprise it uses incandescent lamps instead of LED’s !

Shame mind you cos it would have made my truck quite unique?

I paid $20 for the light so if anybody wants it as a nice project drop me a line and it’s yours, including postage of course. But please remember, you need to cut some metal to make it fit.

Hey Scerey

Take a look at this cracking aftermarket LED brake/load area light? I think it looks better than the Frontier light I have just wasted my money on? Still have to drill the cab for the wires and fixings etc but only diddy ones or, as you suggested, fix it to the roof rack rails?

Whoops, wrong link, I was thinking more of the following

Mini LED Tailgate Light Bar: http://www.reconaccessories.com/Mini%20 ... %20Bar.htm

Bed Rail / Cargo Area LED Light Kit (This is more appropriate for my load area when connecting up my Fifth Wheel trailer at night! Looks like I'm going to waste some more dollars! http://www.reconaccessories.com/Bed%20R ... ghting.htm
