Hi all,

New to the forum and to the Navara last week Very Happy

I've just bought an '98 D22 2.5 TD which has developed a problem -

I hate to start introductions with a problem - sorry

Anyway it seems to be missing a little when i drive it and then when i try to push it over 3500 rpm it kicks out a load of blue ish smoke and wont push past the 3500 mark.

Is the problem with the EGR valve or is it fuel problems and need the fuel pump adjusting?

Blue shmoke? That's unburnt oil. Struggling above 3500 rpm, I would say your rings are worn, you have a low compression and chucking out half-burnt oil through exhaust. Worn engine mate. Should have test driven it before buying :roll: Sorry

Ebay type in engine restore sposed to be the badgers nadgers.i have read several write ups.

don't know much about your type of engine but i don't think you would 'develope' a worn engine in the time span your talking about, presumablely it was alright last week?

try the basics first, check/clean air filter and ducting, this will give you smoke from unburnt diesel.

are you sure its blue smoke and not black, it does make a difference as to the possible cause
