Hi to all, Im new to the forum.
Im looking for some advice and hope that someone on here may be able to help.
My Navara has been stood for a while due to ill health. I drive on very short distances every so often and had the engine management light come on.
I have a P1021 code TC BOOST CONT ACT and from what ive read it looks like it could be the turbo actuator?
I noticed an arm connected to what looks like a vacuum valve actuator at the top of the engine near the heat shield. This does not seem to move at all when revving the engine.
Is this the turbo actuator?
I have loss of power etc
2011 2.5 D40 manual non dpf.later version with electronic actuator
If not where is the actuator and how difficult is it to remove/replace. What is the vacuum arm etc at the top of the engine and could it be faulty or stuck too? Should I be looking at anything else?? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

It seems very likely the electronic turbo actuator is faulty.

It is possible that the variable vanes in the turbo have seized up, so remove the intake to the turbo and check by hand that the blades swivel (not spin) easily.

It could be wiring or a faulty earth, but pretty unlikely.

You can see new or recon actuators on eBay for £100 or so if the blades are moving ok.

Thank you for quick reply.
This started as an intermittent fault with loss of power and no warning lights on the dash.
Now have engine light on.
Im going to check on your advice today. I noticed yesterday that there is an arm type actuator at the top of the engine behind the heat shield that connects to something like this. (pic) this does not move when engine is revved and looks to be stuck in one postition. I will take some photos of actual actuator on the engine.

I know on the old vacuum type the actuator is supposed to pulse at idle, but have no idea if the electronic one is supposed to. Certainly I would expect this actuator to move when the engine is revved.

Not sure what this is called or what it does but it doesn't move when engine runs or revved, any ideas what it is/does? Looks like its part of the EGR cooler?
