Hey all
So I am planning on re spraying my roof bars as they have been scuffed and scratched. I'm spraying them gun metal grey and wondered what the best colour primer is to use black, white or grey?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

I sprayed my roof bars many years ago! (And side steps)
Initially used gray primer, then a regular gloss black before the final body color black and clear coat! And apart from the scratches I've caused by using the roof bars, they still look great!
But as landmannn said its best to use whichever primer colour is closest to the final colour! hence why I base coated with gloss black (couldn't find black primer and wasn't comfortable going straight onto the bars in the gloss black without a primer)

Thanks guys I've gone with grey primer. Looking forward to the results. When I got the truck one side of the bars part of the paint was missing and the other side you can see a hologram from stickers that previous owners have put on then removed.

The early d40s had navara written on the bars from the factory but they often peeled so most just remove them
