Just finished my radio conversion in my 05 Pathfinder R51 from Factory sat-nav/6 disc changer to double din. Was surprisingly easy so if anyone needs any help, please reply or send me a message!

Original setup:

Tools required:
Phillips screwdriver
Torx T10 driver
Trim removal kit (not required, but it helps) 4 x In-Car Radio Door Body Clip Panel Trim Dash Audio Plastic Removal Tool Kit 5060551540528 | eBay
Wire crimp tool and connectors

Cabling kits needed:
Steering control interface - Nissan 20 pin radio replacement adapter cable and steering control interface - InCarTec
Conversion kit for factory reverse camera - Retain Nissan original rear view back up camera - InCarTec
Antenna adaptor - Nissan/Honda grey rectangle to DIN car aerial antenna adapter cable - InCarTec
Steering controls output cable - Sony steering wheel control input patch lead for 29-XXX series steering control interfaces - InCarTec (will vary dependant on what model radio you wish to fit. Mine was a Sony XAV-AX100)

You will need a new radio-surround dash panel. I sourced one from a breaker on eBay who threw in the radio brackets too (also a must!). It came from a 2007 Navara.
If you have rear heating controls like I do, you may have to drill 2 holes to make the heating control unit fit.

And the finished product:

I am still working on the installation of the factory reverse camera converter. Will update again when that's complete.
very well work, congrats. are you able to track fuel consumption and such controls with the new screen that we used to have in the original screen?

hi I am currently trying to do the exact same to my pathfinder R51 2007 but the harness I bought as per the link in your post doesn’t fit onto my original car adaptor 🙈 I only have the one connector coming out the car and it’s white with 24 pin holes but no large ones at the end like the new one has and cannot find any other ones the same any ideas?

I assume you have bought this harness
The white socket on this harness plugs into the white connector that was originally plugged into your radio.

I know when I replaced my Navara head unit it was said there were 2 different types. There was no way of telling until you removed the head unit.

I would contact the vendor, they should be able to exchange the one you have bought for the right one.

Hi, I'm new to the page and have just bought a pathfinder and looking into stereos as I've just found out you don't seem to be able to stream your music to it. Does that new unit of yours use the factory aerial for the sat nav?

Thanks

The GPS uses a different aerial from the fm radio but usually with these kind of head units a in dash gps antenna comes with them

Does the original stereo have anywhere that you are able to plug a aux into and just do the music that way at all?

Brill cheers for all you help.

So really the only option I have is to take out the screen at the top of the dash and put an aftermarket unit in. Surprised nissan made them with a stereo that's a pain in the ass

It's not even that easy!
The hole the dash screen leaves is too small for a standard double din radio so you'll need to change the entire centre section of dash from a model without the screen!

Hi, I’m looking to do something similar as my stereo system is not working so want to install a new one. Where did you find the fascia from please?

Ebay is the usual go to but since the snapped chassis buy back scheme, early d40's are like rocking horse 💩
However this be of interest
But you'll need to figure out was radio fits that cos it looks bigger that standard double din and you'll still need to find the cubby box lid!
