Afternoon Gentlemen,

Just got my Navara back from the mechanic, looks to be in fine shape. All that was done in the end is remove, clean & fix and refit the intercooler for a total of £142. Like I said, no sign of the chip, and it was supposed to be a non-plug & play, so not sure that previous owner could remove and sell it that easily. I'm attaching a picture of where the intercooler was mended - seems the damage was where the core tubes attach to the tank. The place I sent it to specializes in radiator supply, repair & testing; compared to a new one (which may not be very freely available over here) I think I got a good deal.

Mechanic's opinion is follows: the boost leak due to the busted intercooler may account for smoke & bad fuel economy. On Monday I'll be driving down to my parents' ranch, round trip of 850mi, so will have a better idea if there's an improvement on the latter afterwards. He also says some smoke upon acceleration is normal en he's not terribly concerned about my vehicle's smoke. He is looking at whether anything can be done regarding updating the ECU software and will report back when he has answers.

I'll give another update when I return from my trip. Thanks for the help and suggestions, glad to have made some progress!

Good day, Gents.

I'm hoping someone has intricate knowledge of the V6 diesel's turbo setup, or can help get me in touch with a dealer, V9X engine or turbo specialist that has the knowledge and resources to confirm or refute whether a certain replacement turbo will fit my vehicle. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks!
Hi there

Am in South Africa, owns a Nissan Pathfinder V9X and would like to know if your mechanic is anywhere in Gauteng, would like to take the car to him and get it looked at. Let me know please.
