Hi all looking for advice, have 2010 facelift with rear differential failure (bearings), been advised to swap the rear axle instead of repairing the diff, would any axle fit the 2010, as some breakers are saying it needs to be a facelift axle / differential
Thanks

Something changed in 2010, to be honest, not sure what, but it does appear you need the post 2010 axle. Manual have different ratios than autos by the way.

Just thinking about it, £500 for an unknown condition rear axle is a bit of a gamble. If you are handy with your tools it isn't that tricky to replace the bearings provided the ring and pinions are ok.

The axle is a Dana M226, a variation of the Dana 44. Loads of you tube videos on how to replace the bearings, milneroffroad generally have the parts.

Just one final thought, a gearbox specialist will be able to repair the diff, worth phoning around as I would have thought that it would be less than £700.
Thanks I’ll have a look who’s in the area
