ok so today i checked oil levels etc due to getting close to service (last one was 6,000 kms ago) the truck is at 156,000 kms and there is a big service scheduled for 160.
and the timing case had oil marks on it, which i had cleaned like 2-3 months ago with a pressure machine (after covering all the electronins, desconnected battery etc)
should i be conserned??? or ask the mechanic to fix, or is it nothing? the oil is only visible there ground and everything else next to it is clear

Did you have the frt timing cover off recently?
Because when you put it back on, you are meant to seal 2 areas of it with sealer when refitting it and if you dont- thats what happens you end up getting a weeping oil leak which spreads out more with the fan air blowing it.
Its an easy fix just take cover off again ,clean and reseal and refit tightening the bolts in sequence and to correct torque you should be fine.

best of luck.

Hi mate i have this exact same problem with oil leaking out and down the cover, my sump was saturated in oil from it, do the timing chains have oil swooshing around them inside and why the cover as to be sealed properly?

Cheers
