Afternoon Folks, hope your all keeping safe and well.

Could any one please help. May be covered in another thread so my apologies if it is.

My Turbo is on the way out on my 10 plate 2.5 Nav.. checked part numbers today and number of blot holes on manifold infeed.

Part number - 764018-01
4 bolts on manifold.

I've searched the old tinternet and can find very little available, alternative part number 769708 keeps popping up, but is this a direct replacement??

Ideally if I'm going to replace turbo or get it repaired I may as well upgrade slightly with modified turbine wheels and bearings. Are there uprated cartridges available whilst still using OE casing?
Or a local (midlands) company that will upgrade my old unit with recommendations.

Any advise or a point in the right direction would be great.

Thanks

Are you sure it is the turbo? On reason for asking is that they seem pretty reliable.

I am not aware of any upgrades, but there are plenty of specialists in this part of the world.

Cheers for reply landmannnn, I'm pretty confident - it's been squealing on boost for a few weeks now once warm. Popped it to my friends garage the other day. Out come was play on bearings/shaft.. fortunately seals aren't leaking yet but I'm sure it wont be long. As it's my work horse and the crazy situation the world is in a the moment I figured it would be a good time to refurb or upgrade. Truck has a dte box fitted running programme 4 + 20% (pulls well ?) but would be nice to spool up a bit quicker. I may buy a cheap new turbo unit whilst I tackle rebuild myself if I **** up at least I can keep running.

Turbo problems very rare on them . oil in pipes not unusual! Have you checked intercooler hoses and intercooler for perforation.

I had to replace mine @ 90,000km... lots of end float resulting in compressor wheel rubbing the housing bending the fins with noticeable metallic noises, This does not appear to be thethe issue with the OP so I agree it is most likely a hose or intercooler issue.
