Hi all, just a quick question on the V9X gearbox. Does anyone know of a way to program them? The reason for this odd-ball question is that I permanently drive in "S" mode else the box just keeps changing at low rpm and when I do want to leave the traffic in my smoke it takes a good while to kick-down and get a move on. In sport it's a tad better but still a bit frustrating?

Any ideas, Nissan S.A seem so say it can be done but no one seems to know how.

Thanks

Good day
I have the same issue on my 2013 v9x. When i do slow cruises in mountain passes, with or without load, she changes gear up to early and then she labour all the way. When i manual down gear then she sound just fine until i select auto again then she gears up.
I am trying to understand what is the factors that control the gearing. I see this post was 2010 with no reply, sure by now someone must have figured out how to correct it. I bought mine 2nd hand 5 years ago so i have no idea if it does the same when it was new, perhaps some sensor needs replacement.
Looking forward for some advice from the experienced v9x buddies.
Thanks
Ernie

Have a read through this, it will probably answer your questions.

Disconnecting the battery and turning the key a few times does reset the computers.

My best advice is click the gear lever over to sport mode when you get to hilly areas. Beyond that I just tend to ignore what the transmission is doing!

Hi Landmannnn,

I did the reset.
All seems fine accept that now my cruise control is not activating. It swithes on but refuse to activate, any advise.
The VDC light came on while driving, i restarted and it stayed off.
OBD scanning does not show any fault codes. I have no idea where to start.

It is probable that the clock spring is playing up. (It's the ribbon connector behind the steering wheel)

Reason being, the cruise set command goes through this ribbon, as does the steering angle sensor which would set off the VDC.

It may be something else but I wouldn't have thought that it is a coincidence that both things are playing up.

Sometimes turning the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times will make it work temporarily.

I had it at a nissan mech and it seams that the set button is playing up. Will get contact cleaner and open it up and do some contact cleaning. He showed me how to get it out....just need to disconnect the battery so the air bag do not go off
