It would certainly be a first as far as I can think of, a recall for a new engine?? They didnt even do that for the poor sods with the D22 blow ups!
i think it is because renault are involved this time and they have called the recall
Renault have been involved for a long time, years actually, they own the controlling share of Nissan

Renault and Nissan even have their offices next to each other at Maple Cross

pete800r, i don't know whether this recall is true or not? however what really puzzles me is the fact that you said in your original post that your first D40 had lots of issues. Was it 4 clutches, axles, halfshafts etc etc? asnd yet you're perfectly ok with ordering another one???

Am i missing something here?
yes i had all them problems but i like the truck and nissan paid for all the faults and extended the warranty free
plus i was told all the faults were sorted now .and thought i would chance it
and i start with an engine after 12 days

Mines been in the dealers today for other stuff - they know nothing about it !!??
It seems the dealers are not the ones contacting you.
nissan uk ring you up.
i thought it was a joke till i got the email
Can you post a copy of the email? :thumbright:
sorry i can not send the email as it is only intended for the person it is sent to
but dont worry if you have got the new nav you will soon get one

I smell bulls#it. My mate has had one since first launch with no issue. More miles on it than some first euro 3 D40's. The lack of info does not ring true with no pin pointed fault. If that was the case you would have your money back, and be driving some other motor after all the fault and hassle you have had before.

Please feel free to delete any personal information from the email before you post. Come on mate, prove your point as you seem to be getting everyones back up.

My truck of which I bought from Nissan has it's FSH from Renault in Swindon before I bought it. My brother worked for Renault/Nissan in Trowbridge as their offices/showroom are shared.

I agree with Shooter, you could easily remove your personal details and post the email here?

I'm not saying i don't believe it, because it sounds like it could be a serious issue? in which case usually one of two things happen:

1. It's so serious that the world and his daughter would soon find out about it?

2. It's so serious that the makers don't want anybody that doesn't need to know, to get wind of it? (in which case they shouldn't have told you)

If you're saying:
sorry i can not send the email as it is only intended for the person it is sent to

Why did you feel the need to tell everybody here, yet refuse to show any proof email etc?

After 10 days and 900 miles i got a call from nissan recalling my tekna nav for a engine replacment i was 150 miles from home and said i would bring it back to aldershot nissan but she isinsted i did not drive it at all so they brought me a pathfinder and towed mine away

Mine was due for collection today, but I am told they can not release the Navara because of engine recall issues. The Navara is at the dealers at the minute. There was suppose to be a statement from Nissan yesterday to explain what the problem was, but nothing appeared. I am ringing them this morning, so will keep you posted

another new member stated posting now, i smell something here, niether of them have any proof of this, it all seems to sus to me. i think they like getting peoples backs up on the site, i think the best thing to do is dont reply and hope they go away and play with there dream nav

I only posted to tell you whats happened this week to me. I still own a 07 Aventura. What possible gain would I have by making a story up? Speak to the dealer if you want. Evans Halshaw Nissan, Leeds. Tel 01132 800 200 (contact Simon Webb) Car ordered, Silver Tekna Connect.

As a new member i joined this site to see if there was any problems before i ordered mine as most people only had positive things to say so i ordered one
When other people start posting engine recalls delayed deliverys and a press release from nissan i guess you might take new member seriously

Hi Paul

I have no reason to disbelieve what you are saying, but did you not ask why your new truck is having an engine replacement. If I had bought a new truck and they were recalling it so soon I would certainly be asking questions.
The guys on here are all wondering as to why this is happening but no-one seems to know.

Can you enlighten us a little more or at least demand some answers from your dealer? :thumbright:

One of you said that the dealers know nothing about it, it was coming direct from nissan i think it was, now the above post says that the dealer won't release truck because of engine recall issues ???? So do the dealers know about it or not, mine was in dealers yesterday for warranty work and they know nothing about it- and they share with renault next door.
Time will tell on this one i think .........................

If someone rang me and said they where going to tow my 25k truck away, i'd want to know dam sure why !!!!!!!!!!

I REALLY hope these guys are talking BS, expecting mine in 2 weeks.
If all of this is correct i might even start looking to get new vw double cab even if it looks like a golf on steroids!

But i do hope this is not the case !!!
Please tell me this is not true?
