I actually can't believe I'm gonna say this but here goes (will prob get my membership suspended for this  )

If they tell me I have to wait another 2 months the next VW double cab is looking better by the min
You'll have to wait a while. The VW doesn't come out in Uk until Sept 2011

I met the local slaes man by chance over the weekend, and he said that a new batch delivered to him where being returned to the factory??? to be sorted ( and tried to sell me a V6).

Certainly seems to be true!
If his batch has been sent back, he should have offered you the V6 for the price of a Teckna.

Did you not ask why?
Hi Shooter

I did ask why and he said "all we know is it's a technical issue"
When I asked what type of issue he said he doesn't know but it's only nav's built after September 6th.
Then I asked if mine would be one of the affected ones as I have a del date of 29th October he said he isn't sure.

I then phoned them from another phone and said I am in the process of buying a 2 month old nav (bit of a White lie  ) and heard all these rumours about the new trucks to which they replied "if it's on the road already it's not affected.
now thats bull **** mine as been on the road two weeks and was taken off the road to day the dealer is now the owner of it

Morning Dom,
It does now appear this is why there is a delivery hold. Checking with Nissan have said they are running a technical check on each Navara and will let me know when they are being released. This explains the holdup but they are telling me to wait for further advice - not sure about 6 weeks though. As soon as I hear from Nissan themselves, I will let you know more. There is a plan at Nissan's end to resolve this asap, apologies for this last minute delay as we were on track.
Best regards

Subject: Delays

Hello ******

There seems to be a number of rumours on the internet that technical issues have affected Navaras built after 6th September resulting in a possible delay of 6 weeks.

Is this something you have any information on?

Regards

Dom

I did start another post before I saw this but just to add ,I have just got off the phone fuming  I phoned my dealer to speaker to the manager as recomended by my salesman only to be told its his day off,I asked my salesman what the story was and why 6 weeks he told me they have 18 vehicles on order with this problem and mine is one ,of the 18, 2 are at the dealers mine is one they cannot release it till nissan sort it ,he was told by nissan its a brake issue and the vehicles in this country will be sorted first,I then phoned Nissan customer services as sugested, what a complete f-----n waste of time the pratt knew nothing only that theres a technical issue when I mentioned brakes he had no knowledge and kept saying a technical issue but didnt know what, its apparently pathfinders as well if built after sept 6th,I phoned the dealer back after profusely thanking the customer services bloke for all his help  and told him what was said and he went thru what he told me again but then said Nissan said 6-8 weeeks which is another 2 weeks more than he told me last night ! I told him to get his manager to ring in the morning as I am going to probably cancel it,I thought the motor industry was struggling to sell cars ? no bloody wonder when they treat customers like complete pratts,I did say that its not looking good on the forums and he quite understood ,if my dealer has 18 with a problem there must be loads in the UK ?

And the reply:

Dear Mr Booysen,

Thank you for your e-mail to Nissan regarding the delivery delay of your Nissan Navara.

We can confim that a technical issue has been identified, we are unable to confirm at present exactly what the issue relates to. However our experts in the Nissan technical centre in Cranfield are currently working to find the best possible fix. We are unfortunately unable to confirm how long the delay will be at present, but we anticipate approximately one month.

I hope this information has been useful. To whom it may concern

Following the below e-mail response i would like to express my complete and utter disbelieve at the way Nissan is treating its customers.

Why are we not being given the facts, are they going to recall all new navara's?
Is this a serious problem?, surely it is if they have stopped production and suspended deliveries?

Why are we not being told what is wrong with these trucks?
What about the people that have taken delivery already?, are they driving death traps?

Ps. for anyone, and i think everyone should, that wants to contact the department they mention below is working on the "issue" i have included the details below;

I think if they get inundated with calls they just might have to release a proper response.

Louis Booysen
