I haven't been able to find any engine info on it but would presume it'll be similar to the Ranger.

I'm sorry but I have to say I don't think much of it.

ford and mazda use the same chassis and engines for there pick ups, but i prefer the look of the new ranger and like the interior of the mazda more lol.

and whats with those back lights??? they look like summat else.....poss a land cruiser or summat???

Theyre thinking mass market. The new gen utes are in the same genre as the crossovers, appealing to those who want to look like they do off-roading and some grunt work , when really the most they do is climb the occasional kerb and carry home the shopping. And thats where the money is.

Crossovers are for shopping and going up the odd kerb. Pick ups are for business users and people with smelly dogs and not for shopping. :puker:

I'll agree with your opinion in theory, and that theory works in the UK. What I was getting at is that we're now in a global market. You may not like the 'hairdresser' look of the new utes but theyre not designed primarily for the UK tastes, but for mass appeal in the bigger markets, eg the Orient and Australasia where theyre the everyday vehicle - not just for business (and smelly dogs!!).
