Evening All,
My Nav Tek was ordered in Aug with delivery promised in October. This was put back to Nov 11 and is now supposed to be Dec 6. Dealer [Yeomans, Worthing] said this was due to a problem with a vacuum pump . Getting a bit impatient now. Is this a big problem ?
Are there any future implications with this ?

Welcome to the 'boat', there are a few of us in it already! Seems to be all 4 cylinder Navaras built after 6th Sept are to have the vacuum pump changed before they are delivered to customers, some that were already driving theirs had them recalled. Once the vacuum pump is changed over to a good one ther shouldn't be any future implications (at least I'm hoping NOT!)
Do you know if yours is actually at the dealers, in a holding compound, or still on its way to the UK?

(WE knew about 2 weeks ago!)

Brand new boy to this forum!!!! only found it whist trying to find out about my delayed Tekna. Not a happy teddy me!!!!! Expected 22/10, then told 28/10 now told maybe mid to late December!!!! Ouch!! At least they have hired a vehicle for me until I take delivery, however a Renault Traffic hire van does nothing for a mans street cred. Anybody heard what progress Nissan are making with the VacuumPump replacements? Will we see our shiny new toys before Father Christmas wakes up?

Good luck y'all

Dave

I have been told Nissan uk got a few hundred xtrails in to be given to some of us as loaners. They are all being taxed and insured today and then loaded onto transporters to be taken to dealers :?:

Where my truck is I don't know. The guy I have been dealing with is off at the moment. I always got the impression it was on its way over. My present Navara is only two years old and is being taken in px so I am not stuck for transport , its just bloody annoying. If it keeps getting put back I'll think seriously about getting a VW Amarok when they finally arrive.

my truck was unloaded from the transporter then driven straight into the compound and is staying there till they get a new vacuum pump apparently, nissan customer services(joke) were meant to ring me last week with an update but havnt bothered ,luckilly the dealer filled me in as much as he could.

Nissan customer care are starting to become very annoying.
They told me my navara would now be back end of November(orig 15th Oct) but as the technicians were fitting the new vac pumps in 3 hours 10mins instead of the 4 hr target time, then this could bring the date forward.
They said I would have a 4x4 of some description by 4th November to loan, untill my Nav was ready.
I phoned yesterday to see what was happening(as they never phone you back) and was then told 6th Dec for new delivery date, and I could have a primastar next Thursday.
I qouted the rumour of X Trails being available but he said he had no knowledge of this. I am begining to wonder if he has any knowledge at all!!

I must have been quite lucky with Nissan CS over the years?

Whenever i had to speak to them regarding anny issues they've always treated me just as you'd expect a customer to be treated?

I only ever had one experience with them that wasn't good, i must have got the new boy on the phone at the time, after i'd put him straight on a few things everything was fine.

Just recently i had something done that the warranty dept made excuses about, but CS agreed to sort it out, and they phoned me every couple of days to see how progress was going, and if i was happy. By that time my truck was then out of warranty, but they treated me just the same.

I know all cases and experiences are different, but they've always done right by me

Maybe I am being to harsh/selfish
After all, They will have quite a few Navara customers giving them greif about their post 6th Sep Navara's
On the hand, the dealer has been 1st class!

Ah, dealers, now that's a whole different kettle of fish!

I could write a book about my dealer experiences

I'm expecting delivery of my Nav Tekna 2010 190 Auto Connect on 18 November via our leasing / purchase agent. Here's hoping that this remains unchanged although I suspect it shall be put back. Telephone calls to chase progress shall need to be made now - was initially advised of a problem with the brake lines but this thread (although a mere 29 pages) has been informative.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions.
