Hi just got rid of a problematic freelander and bought a d22 on a 2002 plate, problem is.....

I work out in the country and with this snow i need the 4wd working, the light comes on the dash but had the wheels spinning today and only the rear ones are driving. I didnt get an owners manual with the car so am i doing something wrong or is something up? Other than that its a spot on vehicle and i deffo wont be going back to landrover!

Cheers steve

Hi mate :)
Maybe it hasn't been used in a while so operate the lever back and forth a few times to get it to engage.
I tend to put mine in and out of 4 wheel drive whilst on the move so have you tried that :?:
If it still won't work check the front prop is fitted as someone may have removed it to save fuel. If that checks out then have free-wheeling hubs been fitted :?: if so engage them and you're away :thumbleft:

If your truck is still as standard spec then it will just have the plastic 'hub cap' fitted on the wheel matching the rear wheel.
If free wheeling hubs are fitted the plastic cap is gone and a metal hub is fitted with a large key-way to lock/un-lock the shafts.
Hope this description makes sense :?:

just checked and front prop is missing......not happy :( anyone in newcastle got one for sale???? lol
Bummer mate, but as I said, some people disconnect them so the drag on the running gear is reduced to improve MPG, sounds like that here but forgot to mention it
Good luck hunting, try Thorntons Breakers
Sniffer

Yup, Thortons are in Bradford.
