Good evening, just thought I ought to say hello.

Not a Navara owner (Sorry guys), we have the hatchback version (or at least my wife does).

We have had an 06 plate Pathfinder for the last 15 months, my wife use's it as a daily runner to and from work and kids to school etc and then for towing the family caravan the odd weekend a year. Got to say were pretty impressed with it (was going to buy a Disco and glad we did'nt)

Just started to look for a forum as I was thinking about changing the clutch. The car has done 29k, we bought it just 3 years old with 19k on the clock. I knew at the time that the clutch felt worn but as I got it at the right price I was quite happy to change it when it started to fail. Since we have had the vehicle the clutch does not feel like it has got any worse (we have towed our twin axle caravan to Devon and other places etc since we've had it) but we are looking at venturing to France with the caravan this summer so I thought I would change the clutch as a preventative measure. I have just been looking on E-Bay and found a couple of clutchs for a reasonable price but then noticed one add offering a single mass flywheel to.

Has any one had any clutch experience (I have heard they are prone to clutch's - not sure how true this is) and converting to single mass flywheels? Is there anything else that needs to be considered when changing? And is changing the clutch an easy job? (I do build and run my own rally car so have got some mechanical experience)

Cheers
Mark

Hello and welcome :D

I too am no mechanic but I would fit a clutch from a newer Pathfinder if it's possible because they are stronger than the earlier models.
