I also drive around with tweezers I stole from the missus' nightstand, not for on-the-go manscaping and a quick pluck and trim of my eyebrows (in a thoroughly heterosexual way, ofcourse :colours: ), but to adjust the jumpers on my DTE, obviously....

Quick follow up:

This slightly revised Monster Industries FPC-R model I got has a truly huge tuning capacity.
I have to run really low settings on it, in order not to get a Batmobile-like smokescreen. Low rpm performance is now better than ever, no error codes, though there's not that much fuelling to add (compared to my earlier Racechip/DTE tune) on the stock turbo at higher (3500-4500) rpm@21.5psi.

I have now effectively maxed out fuelling that goes with the stock turbo's airflow potential.

I have no doubt that the FPC-R is the absolute best single go-to mod for a bigger turbo.

It had to happen sooner or later, something I was thinking about for ages:

Take a GT2056V Nav turbo, remove 56mm compressor (240+hp flow), machine compressor housing, fit Garett GT28 60mm compressor (310+hp flow), replace seals, recondition, rebalance.

Who's brave enough to go first????

I can get this done for ÂŁ400 + vat. Take around a week. Its lee's mate.

On this I have one been done. The price is correct under the condition the parts they remove can be reused. I have 3 turbos at my hands now, and 2 manifolds and down pipes made. Before I fit new turbos and pipe work I'm going to try out the hybrid turbo for power gains 1st. Reason I have 2 manifolds is on a different motor we changed the length a tad and gained 13hp just by doing that. So done one has maths and experts say. And one of our own which in has proven better in the past. The 2 other turbos are a new garrett and a new efr Borgwarner. But I do think Tonys mix match holset custom turbo maybe bang on the money for the nav. Saying that I will give the hybrid 1st go up against yours Tony, let's hope I don't win yours  :D

I got a GT28RS sitting here, along with a modified TD-05G-16H as backup...

I'll trade you both for the Borgwarner EFR..... :salute:

The longer the manifold runners, the better the topend, at a slight expense of low range.

Tony your right there bud

Serge nice try  we had to order 4 borgwarners from the states to get them this month. If we had a waited 1 more day it would of been 3 to 6 months before we had them. Only the states have them at the moment. Even our guy who works for borgwarner here has a 6 mth wait. Price is the same everywhere no cheaper units has it's Borg who have set the price. Put it this way it will make or break the truck interesting to see what this thing can do on the nav.

****....

I speak of this EFR-thingy for the first time (page 2 of this very thread), and Lee and Tony go out and buy up every g@dd@mn single one of the babies.........

What are you guys getting, the EFR6258 or the EFR6255?

Well, I'll stick to my poor little TIAL-modified version of the GT2860RS for now... :(

I feel so small and lonely....... :x

Non turbo engine tuning doesn't directly cross-over to turbo engine tuning.
The exhaust of a non turbo petrol can be pulse tuned because at full throttle the gas temperature is roughly constant (controlled A/F ratio).
On a turbo diesel the exhaust temperatures and pressures are constantly changing, this makes the speed of sound (i.e. the pulse speed) in the exhaust gas variable and makes pulse tuning impossible.

As a result there are only two good ways to design an exhaust manifold for a road going turbo diesel (as opposed to fixed rpm like a generator or boat).
The first way is pulse converter which relies on pairing 1&4 and 2&3 with a 4-2-1 style.
The second way is minimum volume which keeps as much energy as possible in the exhaust pulses and uses those to spin the turbine harder.

Every modern automotive diesel uses the minimum volume type for early spool up and quick boost delivery.
If you want to build a high rpm screamer, the pulse converter may be a good option, but you will delay spoolup.

You just had to plunder the entire shop, didn't you?????????
Mines the small one mate 370hp, the others are for petrol motors 500hp and 750hp upgrades. All got at the sometime as part of a group buy. Saved on delivery and tax to be honest.

There's a few more mods to be done at the same time with mine. Injectors, stroker fuel pump kit, air induction kit all new pipe work. Twin caliper brakes and disc setup. And some bits and bob on top of what's fitted now. But 1st of all before strip out and fit the big boy I'm trying our hybrid out and tuning that to the max. Simple job has it's the same turbo has stock. :D

Lee this hybrid turbo that you are going to try it can put on with standar injectors,2.5" exhaust? Just you will tune up the DMS?
