hello all, im having a few problems with my navara 2007 2.5dci, the emmisions light has come on and its gone into limp mode, i have had a mechanic come out to look at it and put a diagnostic computor on it but its coming up as no fault codes stored, ive read lots of things about fuel pumps, fuel rails, and im worried is there any way of reading the emmision codes with out taking it to my local very expensive nissan dealer,

Is it an auto?

If so, maybe the DPF is blocked? try taking the truck for a run up the motorway to clear it out.

Lot's of slow pottering around town can cause a soot build up, and clog the filter, it might just need a good run to clear it

I have the same issue, belt up and down the motorway for 20 mins for it to clear. Really annoying sometimes.

Mostly common on auto boxes I think especially if you potter around town a lot like I do.

Don't know how long you have once the light comes on before it goes to limp mode. I usually hit the motorway straight away.

it is a auto but its now in limp mode and wont rev above 3000 rpm and takes agaes to rev up and max speed is about 50mph will doing the reset on the ecu clear the emmision codes? i will give it a try tonight and see what i can do

If it is the DPF light and the vehicle has already gone into limp home mode....you are up for a few dollars as you will need to get the car to a dealer for a forced regeneration of the DPF. In Australia I believe this costs around $300 and is not claimable under warranty. There is an easy to read and understand section in the Owners Manual on the DPF.....if you have one fitted to your D40 (or Pathy or whatever Euro 4 or 5 standard car) READ this section. It will tell you to get up over 80kph to do the regen but in many situations when city driving or off road this can't be done - simply lock back a gear or two and maintain the revs above 1600rpm and the regen will take effect. How do I know? - I had the DPF light come on after several days driving at <30kph in the Gibson Desert in outback Aus - no hope of getting above 80kph so locked in low low and the light went out after about 10 minutes. Just as well because the nearest dealer was approximately 2000km away in Alice Springs and that's an awfully long trip in limp home mode.
