Help..Bizzare misfire.

Hi, Hope one of you can help with this....I drive a 1994 2.5 D22 Navara. It goes like a train and is the best 4x4 I have owned but it has developed what I would describe as a misfire but only in 4th gear! In all the other gears it pulls like a train. It has done 130k miles and I have had it from 800 miles old. Any help/ideas would be appriciated.

its the neutral position switch.
Easy to sort and masses on info about it on here, have a search.
Next time it does it pull the gear stick toward you and it will stop it

Mowerman....You were spot on thanks, I disconnected the switch at the plug and the problem has gone. Do you know what the perils are, if any, of leaving the switch disconnected as oppose to fitting a new switch?

I know one or two reckon its ok without it, but most tend to replace it I think
