Hi guys,

The other day my Pathy didn't turn over first time. Since then the ABS, 4wd, ESP and skid lights all stay on.
so basically all the amber lights on the dash.

Anybody got an ideas on how to solve this, and if i have to take it to a dealer the potentional costs/

Cheers Chris

Hello and welcome Chris :)

Have you been using 4HI or 4LO a lot on the roads? There are a fair few with these problems at the moment so a search should bring up a few threads.

I used it in auto while i was in the peak district at weekend. Nothing showed up at the time.

I'm thinking the same mowerman and have just been looking into resetting the ECU. Not sure if it will work, but i'll give it a go in the morning. Fingerscrossed.

Cheers for the quick response guys

Hi farmboy...... i'am having exactly the same problems,... spent many days trying to sort it out, my problem started during the big freeze too, i have spoke and asked a lot of questions on different forums including this one, and these are some of the pointers i have been told to check
,
1; faulty Abs sensors/ speed sensors ......can cause problems because they are part of the whole esp/abs system?

2; faulty switches/sensors on the transfer case... neutral switch....fwd low switch...fwd high switch auto switch... (still trying to identify each switch)

3; water or damp in any of the switches or chaffing to any cables as mentioned above

4; low oil level in transfer case

these are the items i'am checking, will post any progress or lack of?... hoping to get some info soon regarding which switches are which off a kind forum member,.....PS; although i have all the same lights showing as you, my four wheel drive system does appear to work in all settings...does yours?

if in the mean time you sort the problem...please let me know what you did to sort it

thanks

No success after resetting the ECU.

Looks like i'm going to have to take it to nissan.

Ive never owned a car that devolped so many problems
Washer motor,
Fog relay,
Radio power supply,
Cruse contol sensor,
Rust on the boot and now this! All since September!

I have also reset my ECU today...no less than three times....but faults still showing,... hopefully if i get time in the morning i'll have a look at the transfer switches and wheel sensors...fingers crossed i might stumble across something obvious? sorry to hear about your problems after only owning your car for such a short time, stay upbeat mate you'll get there in the end,

all the best

My pathy's finally fixed.

I took it to a main dealer. They reset it and found several faults showing. They thought it might be a rear ABS sensor, fitted one and realised there was no contunity between the front and back of the car and put it down to broken wires. 9 hours labour and it's finally all fixed. The price... ÂŁ720!

Shocking service from the main dealer though! No communication from them and a lot of phone calls + stress on my behalf. The last time I'll be taking it back to that garage!

I spoke to my friend at Nissan about this after our lights came on once or twice...

Aparently there are a whole load of earths that meet at a certain point in a water/mud trap.. I had been giving the truck a good blast with the jet wash and he said it was probably water sat in there. Most peeps asociate it with the 4WD system because if they have had to use 4WD then its usually been wet and/or muddy...
Anyway , he cleaned and dried the area and chucked some grease in there and touch wood , no more lights.
