Hi

I am new to the Navara scene I have always had Landrovers. I have been reading a few topics and starting to get worried about the engines. My Navara has 69000 miles on it. I am happy with it and thought the engine is fine but I can hear a def ticking noise from the engine. Now Landrovers have lots of ticking noises from there engines so I thought this was normal. Reading through the topics there are lots of things about big end bearings and bolts and all sorts. Is there any way of telling if the job has been done or could someone tell me what I need to do the job. I was always told the engines were great in this but I am a little worried now. Any advice would be great about the Navaras

Thanks in advance

Hi Westie,

Go with the assumption that this job has not been done. If I were you I would do it as quick as possible.
On the point of what you need to do the job, have a read through "big end bearing change" and "d22 blown engine" everything you need is there.

Good luck.

Westie, do as Kallie said and read the two mentioned topics and then do the bearing and bolt change. I thought there was nowt wrong with mine but done the job anyway just to make sure. I was horrified when I saw the state of the bearings when I swapped them out.

For the sake of ÂŁ100 notes for the parts + labour you can have peace of mind or leave it and wait for the bang and fork out 5K

Do you feel lucky :?:

I take it I do have a D22, its a 53plate 2.5 DI Navara. Do the DI still have this problem or is it the TD or both. Can you tell me whereI can get the parts and what parts I need to do the modifications. Or how much would I be looking at for a garage to do the job. I am in the uk.

Thanks
Westie
