Hi all, glad to be over here
. Hopefully I'll be welcome even though I don't own a Navara . I normally frequent the Almera Owners Club and Turbo Diesel Owners Club, but thought I'd come and say hi to you guys here and try and dip into and share a bit of knowledge about the YD series engines.
I have a 2003 Nissan Almera SXE fitted with a YD22DDTi. This is the common rail injection engine put into N16 Almera from 2003-2006, not to be mistaken for the direct injection fitted to N16 Almeras from 2000-2003. Standard they are 136bhp 222lbft. I havnt had a chance to look around this site yet but is anyone into tuning their YD25? I've been doing as much research as possible about mine and also know that the block, head and fueling system (aside from the diesel pump) is the same as that in the YD25 fitted in the D40.
Future plans are to fit a hybrid turbo with a remap. That's only if I can get someone or find something to be able to work around the Denso ECU! It's an on going project that I'm in to as an enthusiast, and I'm interested in seeing what the YD22 is capable of. It would also be good to show the Diesel haters how good modern diesels are now
.
Anyway, looking forward to chatting to you all. Here are a few sepcs and pictures
.
