Evening guys and girls I'm after some help. I noticed tonight when locking the truck up that all the doors locked apart from the drivers door?? Being fairly new to navs Im hoping it's me being stupid and not doing something right rather then something majorly wrong. It's a 55plate aventura

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Cheers Ben

I had this on my 06 plate navara.
I told the nissan dealer it was the solenoid, they said it would just need greasing, so thats what they did..... guess what it didnt work.
I again told them it was the solenoid, they said no, its the BCM unit needs updating, so thats what they did.... guess what it didnt work.
I again told them it was the solenoid, they said no, its the BCM, it needs replacing, so thats was they did..... guess what it didnt work.
I again told them it was the solenoid, they said Yes, its the solenoid, they replaced it and its worked fine ever since. That took 2 or 3 trips to nissan just to solve a simple problem. So from my experience, its the solenoid as mine locked from inside as well but occasionally locked from the key, then stopped totally and i has to manually flick part of the lock with the key or screwdriver and then shut the door. It unlocked fine.

Cheers for the reply mate. Yep that's exactly the same issues Im having was it a costly repair? I popped into my local Nissan dealership today an they said it could be a number of different things, which was a great help. The bloke behindthe counter said because I've changed the lock I might need the key re-programmed and if that doesn't work I need new locks and keys for a grand total of ÂŁ660. I was very polite and told him to jog on. Surely he was a having a laugh??

Mine was all done under warranty so I dont know about costs, sorry.

He may be correct with the key needing re programming as i know the Nissan Nats system is a little "picky"/doesnt like new things, although saying that, if the lock was working after you changed it then surely it cant be the key.

I doubt you will need all locks replacing as it is probably only the solenoid and this isnt the locking barrel so no need for new keys etc. but strange how this could have gone if its a newly replaced part

Also, if the car is locking the door from the interior button, then the system has accepted the new lock, otherwise it wouldnt do that either.

I would say that it is the solenoid, just judging from my own problem with my truck. If you can i would take the truck to another dealer and get another opinion on it as some are just useless.

I had a situation where the passenge emergency door lock stopped working, dealer told me its broken and needed replacing and couldnt be fixed. ordered new part, said i would fit it my self, but whilst removing the old lock i managed to fix it so gave the dealer and ear bashing and got refunded of part cost and original labour cost.
