The biggest improvement for me was the head unit, the sound improvement is like night and day
Cant change the headunit with factory sat nav, But your right the speakers are only as good as the radio they are playing through, the factory speakers are *****, made from paper and rated at 20 watts

With the speakers and sub i have fitted now, the rear view mirror shakes when its booming!!!

Thanks Andy - I'm concerned about you saying that I may lose some bass by changing the speakers though... Hmm, unsure of which way to go now!
I only said that depending on what speakers you go for as some members have said they have lost bass due to the speakers they have used...... The ones i have are very good and you can turn the bass up more than the factory speakers.

I can pritty much nearly run and full vol and full bass with very little disortion now, you try doing that with the factory speakers

the bass is deffo there at normal volumes and you can use more of it.

Here some sound test videos i posted early in the thread with just the speakers and no sub.

Whats the output on the headunit? My Kenwood is 4x50w, is that gonn run some 100w's? I've heard that unbalanced set ups can suck too much juic from the head unit and kill it.

You need to make sure the Impedence of the speakers match, ie 2ohm, 4 ohm etc. you can run pritty much what ever wattage you want. but the higher the wattage the more power your gunna need to move the cone and get the sound you want . ie a amplifer. its finding the ballance between what your headunit can throw at it and make it sound desent with out distortion or sound under powered without amplifing it.
Your 4x50w rating will be at a certain ohms, so to get that max performance from the head unit your speakers need topritty much match that ohm wise.

if you run lower ohms than spec this will increased the load on the head unit if you run higher ohms than spec this will decrease the load on the head unit but you will lose sound quality and quantity.

With the set up i have, the standard speakers were rated at 4ohms each.

My upgraded speakers are accually rated at rated at 2 ohms BUT with the Infinity Reference speakers they are accually True Four Ohms, All Infinity Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance “seen” by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Infinity Reference Speakers will adjust to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by ANY head unit.

Hi Guys i found this very handy in getting the door panels off, bear in mind all the clips are very robust so have a look with a torch as best you can then just really pull it all eventually pops off, very well built!!
Thanks too to Andy for his knowledge...

Basically there are 3 screws, one behind the the plastic insert where the chrome pull handle is and 2 behind the arm rest. The rest is held on by clips.

EI-30
DOOR FINISHER
DOOR FINISHER PFP:80900
Removal and Installation EIS00DYM
FRONT DOOR
Removal
1. Remove power window switch assembly.
l Disconnect harness connectors.
2. Remove pull handle escutcheon.
3. Remove pull handle cover, then remove door finisher screw.
4. Lift armrest upward to release clips and remove armrest.
l Remove screws behind armrest.
5. Release clips and remove door finisher.

Good luck its very simple...
