just looking at this post and my vin is diffrent

it starts VSKCVND40 but then it U followed by numbers  does this make sense and then does this mean I am not getting new wheels  :? :(
Same here m8 mines VSKCVND40U0######

Yep mine is the same

Spain D40's all start with VSK, but take notice of the dates and the VIN's not all trucks within the VINs will be effected because some of those VIN's went past the 08 time frame in which the effected wheels were sold. The wheels will all have batch numbers on them, the number combined with the checks they do will decide which wheels get changed and which don't.

I have seen that its all models between 2005 and 2008 for recall, see vosa site.

What about front wheel bearings have these ever had an issue, mine has done 48k and they are shot already and its never left tarmac as far as I know

I have contacted Nissan UK gave them my VIN number and reg number and they have confirmed mine is a recall and that i will get a letter from them stating what do next

I have contacted my local dealer, as I bought mine second hand!...... they have confirmed my 57 plate is a recall and then asked me a load of questions.
1. how is it driven, heavy or light loads.... I told them all all of the above and as the vehicle was owned by someone else before me I have no idea what they did with it!
2. what sort of roads do I drive it on and what speeds, do I drive it round roundabouts!.... I told them all types of roads at appropriate speeds, and again as someone else had it before I did I had no idea how it was driven!

They are taking it in on wednesday (2 days time) to take the wheels off, clean them and apply a crack find dye (not cocaine!), then tell me if there is an immediate problem..... if there is one they will keep it until wheels are available, otherwise I can take it away and they will advise when new rims are in!...... I am going away with my family on a 1000 mile round trip to ireland soon and am not particularly happy to have a potentially catastrophic problem with my wheels!!!!...... get it together Nissan!

Had my recall letter through the post today . . .

Any D40's with 16" alloys will have them replaced with identical 16" wheels.
Any D40's with 17" alloy wheels will have them replaced with the 2011 model 17" wheels.

Means I'm going to lose my early style 17" alloy wheels which I really like :(

Well chaps I have just had a letter posted to my Uk address saying that the wheels will be changed. The car has to go for checks at the dealer, if they find cracks they will be replaced immediately, and if not you can continue to drive the car and the wheels will be replaced as stocks of new wheels come in. As I have imported the car to France now I have to try and get this sorted through a French dealership. But they did some warranty work without any problems so hopefully it will be ok.

apparently after speaking Nissan today they said they are sending recall letters in batches of 4000 on Mondays for the ment coming weeks :)

ive called Nissan middlesbroug today and Im booked in for 7th July :)
They also confirmed that they fully clean the wheels, inspect if there cracked then replaced there and then... If not they Will call you once there in stock

Ditto for me - booked in 2nd July. Dealer said they have limited stocks of the old style alloys, and some of the new style ones. I'm quite happy that Nissan will replace mine - having a three year old trying to clean them with sandpaper didn't do them much good, plus kerbing them a couple of times. Now all I need is a recall for front lower bumpers and lower ball joints, so I can get those changed FOC as well.
