Bought a tow bar today off one of the member’s steveoborne :thumbleft: the tow bar is to fit a d22 Steve gave me 8 short bolts and 2 long bolts that came off the tow bar
But no matter how hard I look I am stuck cant see how its going to fit unless some of the bolts that are already fitted to the truck that hold the bumper in place also hold the tow bar
Help need please does anybody have any pictures of how the bolts secure the tow bar to the chassis

Oh well, the kettle trick didn't work then.

I thought it all would have been pretty obvious for you, it does make sense that you will replace some of the bumper mounting bolts.

Hopefully someone with a D22 will crawl under their truck and take a few pictures for you.

Good luck, it will all work out fine I'm sure. :thumbright:

been under the truck holding the fookin tow bar and thinking how hard can this be

time for more tea me thinks :D

Hi, i didnt have a bumber on my d22, I'm guessing that the end plates bolted on where the bumber bolts were, it only used to take me about 10 mins to take of or put back on. maybe try take the bumber off and fit the towbar, then put the bumber back on ( may be longer bolts thou).
I used to offer one end up and put one long bolt on, then put the long bolt on the other end, then swing the towbar up in place and fit the other shorter bolts

thats wot i thought
how u getting on with the nav dropped down to u with the lack of power

Mr Fisher.

When i fitted the bumper on mine the towbar was already there.

All i'd say is WD40 (or similar) the hell out the bolts. Then undo all the ones for the bumper, disassemble the towbar, so you have the 2 x endplates and the xbar with the actual tow ball seperate (easier that way) Fit the 2 end plates where the bumper fits on loosely, then fit the xbar. Tighten it all like fook and bobs your uncle :)

Took me about an hour to fit the bumper, all my nuts (oh errr) were tight as.

Took one side with a 2ft breaker bar and the other with a 3ft to get some of them off.

Not even my impact wrench (good for 600nm's) would shift some of those nuts!

I haven't really looked into this that much but im sure there is a slightly different design tow bar for D22's with a bumper to the ones without, however if it helps mate, here are some pics of the underside of mine..
